Piston Copper
Piston copper is a copper-cobalt-beryllium alloy that achieves very high hardness (>280 HB) through a special heat treatment. It also provides excellent thermal and electrical conductivity.
This material is commonly used to manufacture electrode holders, spot welding arms, high-pressure clamps and jaws, and special fixtures. Additionally, it can be used as a piston in injection presses or in plastic runners, providing high efficiency in these applications.
Since it contains 4% beryllium, we do not recommend using it as a spot welding material due to health concerns.
